The series received a complete reboot under new writer Mark Waid who returned the series to its more traditional, Silver Age roots. This series depicts a moral emotionally repressed and restrictive culture than previously depicted. With issue #16, the series was amended to feature Supergirl who had recently been revived in her traditional incarnation since her classic death in Crisis on Infinite Earths.
