Following a relaunch, the title was passed through a variety of creative teams, but the longest run was provided by Bruce Jones who favored the gritty fugitive approach with elements of espionage rather than superheroics and monster battles.
Following Jones departure, Hulk was drawn into the center of the Marvel universe when he was exiled from the Earth by his former friends. Landing on a hostile alien planet, the Hulk no longer became Banner and rose from a gladiator to conqueror before turning his army back on the Earth and his betrayers in World War Hulk. |
