Following a brief Web of Spider-Man run, Peter David made his writing debut on Incredible Hulk and has devoted the longest run to date at eleven years. David made numerous changes to the book beginning with the reintroduction of the Grey Hulk as a less powerful, but more intelligent and cruel version of the Hulk. Storylines emphasized the psychology of Bruce Banner dealing with his repressed emotions and multiple personality. This run also saw the first integrated Hulk as all of his personalities were reconciled and her came to lead a team of agents known as Pantheon. This run also marks the debut appearance of Todd McFarlane who would soon break sales records on Spider-Man before co-founding Image Comics.
