The title is changed to Captain America and the Falcon to reflect his new partnership. Steve Englehart contributed several influential stories including Secret Empire, which depicted a conspiracy in the American government to reflect the recent Watergate scandal. Disillusioned with the state of the nation, Steve Rogers abandoned his uniform and became known as Nomad, the man without a country. This was followed by the return of co-creator Jack Kirby, now serving as writer in addition to artist. His run is well-remembered for sci-fi pulp influences with a touch of seventies psychedelia.
